Greenwoods is Amsterdam’s first ever tea house founded by two English ladies in 1988. It’s a small shop with a handful of small tables and an open kitchen where staff is working hard to prepare delicious dishes. It’s the perfect hangout during summertime, situated along the iconic Amsterdam canals.
Greenwoods serves several English classics: Eggs Florentine (two poached eggs with warm spinach and hollandaise sauce on two toasted English muffins), Veggie Breakfast (scrambled eggs with spinach, grilled vegetables and sundried tomatoes on toast) and of course fantastic Scones with the unique English ‘Clodded Cream’.
Next to that there are nice lunch dishes like portebello with ratatouille, goat cheese, pine nuts and honey on toast or a sandwich with grilled vegetables, sundried tomatoes, spinach on homemade bread. In addition you’ll have a great a choice of famous and exclusive teas which of course you can also combine with a real English High Tea! All cakes are baked at Greenwoods. And if I may give you a tip: especially the lemon meringue pie is unbeatable!
