La Sagrada Familia Church & architecture monument
Although it’s one of the most popular tourist attractions in Barcelona, even locals recognise the magnificence of Antoni Gaudi’s unfinished masterpiece. The colossal church, devoted to the Family of Nazareth, is regularly referred as “cathedral”, although it doesn’t include a bishop’s seat. Raised to a basilica, it shows many facades, all of them symbolising different perceptions of Jesus’ path. La Sagrada Familia’s construction started in 1882 and is expected to be finished in 2026, aimed to beat all previously built christian churches in greatness. Apart from a famous monument, it is also an international centre for spirituality. Open for people of all backgrounds and religions, it spreads the message of peace, harmony and love.
