Nightlife in Rome: Bars & Clubs
Like most European cities, Rome is full of life after dark. Romans love to party, and the options for nightlife in their city are unlimited. The evening starts on one of Rome’s famous piazzas (squares), packed with terrace bars where you can kick back and sop up the atmosphere as the sun sets over the city’s hills. As the night goes on, more and more people get out on the streets and head up to Rome’s bars and clubs for a more lively evening entertainment.
At the west side of the city centre, Piazza Navona is one of the most bustling districts for a night out in Rome, with many cocktail and wine bars surrounding the square and a beautiful fountain in the middle. Even after the bars close, many people gather here to chat, drink and continue the party.
Being home to several restaurants and bars where many young locals hang out, Trastevere is also a very popular nightlife destination. Other hip night venues include Campo Dei Fiori; a vivid market and nightlife spot as well as Testaccio, which is considered to be Rome’s club district.
What is really special about Rome’s nightlife is the exquisite cocktail bars the city has to offer. Spread through different areas of the city you will find Chorus, Jerry Thomas Speakeasy, Freni e Frizioni and several other slick places to sip a tasteful beverage prepared by expert mixologists.
